Joe Bobs, Six Month Update

SIX MONTH UPDATE!
He is one of the most smiley babies I've ever seen. All you have to do is look at him and he lights up. I had no trouble at all getting the greatest pictures of him!
He absolutely adores his sister. His eyes never leave her if she is in the room. She can definitely get the very best giggles out of him. He will just laugh and laugh at her. And she gets very jealous if anyone trys to take her place as soul entertainer of him! I love that she just takes it upon herself to make him laugh in the car or if I'm busy making dinner, etc. And, I love that he loves her. I want them to be close even though they are brother and sister, and I can already see it. I LOVE IT.
He is still the most spitty baby on the planet. Holy Cow, is there going to be an end in sight??????!!!!!
He is sporting some amazingly shart teeth on the bottom. Both of which he absolutely loves to try out on crackers, arms, watermelon, chairs and toys. You name it, it has to be tasted!
He can't crawl YET thank heavens! But, somehow he manages to maneuver himself all over the place mostly by turning circles and rolling. I look around our house and wonder how it ever got so baby unfriendly! I have lots of work to do!!!
He loves to eat! Did I mention he loves to eat. Just don't bring green beans anywhere near the kid. He will eat them while screaming just because he wants to eat, but he lets you know he's not happy about it.

And, this was a huge hit. Every time he came forward he would giggle. Each time he went back he would think about crying, but, oh wait, I'm forward again. Time to giggle. Absolutely hilarious! Nothing better than being a mom---FOR SURE!

Katie

Katie is by far the hardest to take pictures of. She is obsessed with saying cheese, but then won't look at you or smile. So, here are the very few I was able to get of her. I think she would rather help me take the pictures. She loves to make Joey smile.

Bree

My friend Lynndi and I took the kids to Liberty Park to practice taking pictures, of course. We had a lot of fun. Here are a few I was able to snap of her daughter Bree. Little ones are a lot harder to photograph than big people, but I think I got some great ones!

Bridal Shower

My mom and I went down to Cedar City for, my cousin, Megan's shower. We had so much fun talking on the way down. It was nice to have a "girl's" trip. We decided there are several trips in our future that will just be more fun as girls than with husbands.
Meg receieved some sweet gifts. It makes me want to get married again, to the same guy of course, so I can get some of the cool new stuff out these days!
She loved the pictures--HUGE sigh of relief! I'm less anxious about the wedding pictures now. I think we'll just have a ball. Meg is such an easy bride to work with. She just went along with all my crazy ideas.

Julie, Aunt Lou, and Meg
My cousin's wife, Tawna, makes theses fun vails out of all the wrapping and such. Looks pretty cute on Meg. We took a few other pictures with some of her wedding night attire and just laughed our heads off. Definitely, will NOT be posting those though!
Alli, Joey and Ethan. Cousins of some sort. Not sure how all that sorts out past original cousins.

10 Years.....

Friday Night was my official ten year reunion! It's hard to believe it has been ten years and yet so many things have changed in my own life and the lives of my friends. Most are married with a few kids. We are "those" families I used to hope someday I would have.
It was really fun to see people I hadn't seen in years and hear what they are up to. Some had changed, some hadn't. Some people I thought would show didn't, and others I thought wouldn't, did. All in all it was fun. Todd was a trooper for tagging along. If I would have known so many people were going stag I wouldn't have drug him along. Probably, not the most fun and comfortable night for him. He's a good husband. Here's to ten more years.

I had a camera in my purse, but did I take pictures? Ummm, No. Too busy talking.

Swimming Lessons

Todd has wanted Katie to start swimming lessons for over two years now, so she could start her rafting and kayaking career of course. I have been the one dragging my feet. I just didn't want to start the whole "schedule" thing yet. I wanted to keep my baby a baby for as long as possible. And truth be told, we probably should have started at least last summer.

SO, I am happy to report after two months of lessons she has gone out on a limb and can now blow a few bubbles in the water!! Last summer she was much less afraid of the water and getting her face wet. AHHH, the trial and error of parenthood. Sorry Katie. She does, however, love to kick. If swimming were all about kicking and you could keep your face out of the water it would AWESOME!

Meg,
You looked beautiful last Saturday! You're going to knock Reed's socks off on the wedding day!
Thank you so much for letting me take your pictures! I had an awesome time. It was so nice to have someone hold still when I told them to for a change!!!!
Hope you enjoy!

PS. Rachel, I need some serious feedback!!!

"Happy Birthday to the American Flag ...."

We had a bit of a tough time explaining to Katie what the BIG party was for!
Our Conversation:

Katie: Who's party is it?
Mom: A party for our country.
K: What's a country
M: It's where we live.
K: No mom, we live in Utah not a country.
(At this point I could see this was another one of "those" converstaions!

So, I told her it was the American Flag's birthday! Boy, was she excited to find out the flag had a birthday just like she does. She was even more astonished when I told her how old the flag was. She then asked if that was as old as I was. So, for all of you out there 232 is the new 28. Wow, don't we look good for our age!!!!!!

I sure am thankful for this country and all the freedoms it allows!

We headed up to the Breakfast in the Park in Huntsville. I sure love this place. We've been celebrating there for many many years. I just love the small town feel of it all.

Katie is a huge fan of the candy throwing!!!!

We were lucky enough to run into some awesome friends (the Stevensons) from med school in NC who were in town. WE sure love them and miss them!!! So good to see you guys!
