Going Home

It was so nice to take our sweet baby home when I was discharged. I think I was far more traumatized from having to leave without Joey than I thought! I was more nervous and jumpy about everything this time around. But thankfully, everything went smoothly and we have our little guy home. We have been enjoying every second with him!

It's amazing that such a tiny little thing can require such a huge carseat. He wasn't thrilled with it at first, but seemed to adjust quickly. I just love his little pudgy cheeks with his pointy chin!

From the car seat to his nice cozy Moses basket.

I just love this little wagon from my parents. I can't wait to put it in his room!

I love my mom. She is all about the decorating and making people feel special. She took the kids to pick out some balloons before we came home. They were so excited about them. It was raining pretty hard when we left the hospital and they were so worried the rain would ruin their balloons. Fortunately, they survived!

The baby was kind enough to bring along some special presents for his new brother and sister! They were absolutely thrilled. Joey thinks the baby is pretty cool because he can bring trains from mommy's tummy!

You know you're 38 weeks pregnant when.......

You only have one outfit you can still fit into.

  • People start commenting on your size in the grocery check out line.

  • People say "you're still here" when you show up to work or church.

  • You wonder how you are going to shave your legs or if you even care any more.

  • Your daughter says, "Mom, I hope our baby comes soon so you don't have to wear that dress to church anymore." And, "I wish your belly would hurt really bad so my baby brother will come."

  • Your husband is sleeping on the couch because you're too hot and too annoying to sleep next too.

  • You sleep with cold wash rags on your legs and head at night.

  • You're sure your esophagus has holes in it due to the endless amount of heartburn and there is a bottle of TUMS on your bedside table.

  • Your kidneys are permanently bruised

  • The nurse at the doctor's office says, "You're still here, you look great just hang in there."

  • You're hesitant to commit to anything.
  • Your family answers the phone on the first ring wondering how fast they need to get there.

  • You have to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and eat because you're starving.
  • The fridge is stocked and your cupboards are totally organized.
  • You've ironed the pillowcases and reorganized the drawers so many times you've lost count.
  • You're irritated when people walk on your vacuum lines.

  • It's debatable whether you can see your toes.

  • People are looking at you weird when you are at the gym.

  • The only reason you're at the gym is in hopes to force the baby out.

  • You have purchased Castor Oil and are threatening to use it!

  • You really have to focus when you laugh in order to not wet your pants.

  • Your husband says you have reached "blue whale" status. (Don't worry it doesn't offend me~it's been a running joke with every pregnancy!)

  • The car seat base is in the car.

  • There is a suitcase next to the bed.

  • You pray every night that tonight is the night because you are done!!!!

Please come soon baby boy!

We are oh so anxious to meet you.

Katie had her Spring Sing for preschool this past week! She was awesome! I don't know of any other girl who loves to sing near as much as she does. She is quite the little performer. Everytime I would pull out the camera she would ham it up a little more. She was singing so hard/loud that sometimes her mouth would go completely to the side like the lollipop kids from Wizard of OZ. We just couldn't stop laughing. I wish our camcorder would upload to our computer because it really is priceless! We love her and are so proud of all she has learned this year! She loves to read her brother stories and I love that she can read! The only downside is now I can't spell out secrets to my mom or her dad anymore!
