My little Character

This girl has been cracking me up lately! I swear, there is never a dull moment in our house! Just a few I couldn't resist sharing~

"Mom, Joseph Smith had a really bad confliction in his leg and they almost had to cut it off!"

While trudging back to our car from skiing we see a snowmobile and Katie sayes, "Dad, I wish we could ride the snowmaker to our car."

Upon seeing grandpa kneeling at the couch for his personal morning prayers, "Grandpa what are you doing?"
Grandpa says, "I'm talking to Heavenly Father."
Katie's responds, "Grandpa, don't you know He doesn't live in our couch!"

"Mom, hurry, flip a Louie!"
Katie asking great grandma about her wrinkles, "Grossmutter why do you have stripes all over your face?"

There's a few more, but my mind has drawn a blank. I'll have to add later. She's my best little friend and helper. She's growing way too fast and it kills me.

I attempted a few pictures in the snow yesterday. Wow, that was a new experience. Tricky, but fun. I'll have to practice a lot more!!!

50 degrees and sledding

A seriously awesome day of sledding. We escaped the dreaded smog on Monday for some sweet 50 degree picturesque mountain weather. Joey was a big fan. Katie decided we were not cool enough and made her own sledding friends. I love how she refuses the jump with mom and dad and then is totally livin' it up with some other kiddos flying off multiple jumps. That girl!

What was I thinking?

I had such high hopes for this little number. I am actually highly embarrassed to even be posting this baby.
It started out well. Daddy takes oldest for a fine day of skiing and baby is down for a nap. Just me and the cake decorating supplies. Cake baking went well. Fondant coloring went well. On to the the gum paste little animals. As I'm reading the instructions I notice the gum paste is supposed to sit overnight before use. I have three hours to party time. Gum paste animals are not happening. So sad!!!!! At this point I had half a mind to go to the grocery store and buy a dreaded sheet cake. However, after all my hard work I decided to make the animals out of fondant. I suppose they turned out ok, but not near what I was hoping for. Like I said, I had a real vision of how this would all play out. Blasted Vision!!! Lastly, I failed to realize a car ride was required to the final destination of the cake. And that's one reason why this engine is struggling on oh so many levels! Oh well, it tasted great. Guess no one really cares what it looks like as long as it tastes good. Right?!

***Oh and my napping baby woke up a half an hour before the deadline. So as I'm sticking the animals into the cake he managed to dump bread crumbs all over the floor, pull out a good portion of plastic wrap and tin foil, pot and pans, and empty a portion of the lazy susan. A grand total of five minutes. WOW!

Our Sweet Joe Bobs!

Our sweet Joe Bobs,

I can't begin to express how you have changed our lives. This last year has been a complete whirlwind. I have found myself just eating up every moment and wishing for more hours in the day to love you! It's all going way to fast.
We are so happy we have you! We needed you in our family!
Love,

mommy, daddy & katie
A few tidbits:
* 30.25 inches adn 20.7 lbs~ the kid refused to sit on the scale. So, of course, I had to see my lovely weight as they weighed me with and without him.
* All things are a "Dog" even daddy, sister and sometimes mom.
*"Na" is food and "More" is more. (Two of his most popular!)
*"Uh, oh" is a favorite as he explores gravity.
* Runs and falls. Runs and falls.
* Loves the tub (recently found his boy parts-- a serious fascination--hopefully only a phase)
*Loves all things food~except cheddar cheese~ go figure.
*12 teeth --my own little Edward.
* Super sensitive
*Loves, loves, loves his big sis.
* Oh so dramatic tantrums. They usually consist of fleeing from the scene of the crime to the nearest couch or corner. Throwing his head forward, still standing and sobbing hysterically into his hands like his whole world has totally been destroyed. It is hysterical! I hope to catch it on film in the near future for my own personal pick me ups!
* Loves the song "Old MacDonald."
He is my little person. Indescribably cute and squishy. My world!

Guess who's One???

Happy Birthday Joey!

This kid is a crack up. He will eat absolutely anything in sight~except when it comes to his own birthday cupcake. After several "almost" attempts to dive in we finally ended up fork feeding the whole cupcake. It seems our little man has a serious aversion to messy food/stickiness. (I suppose he gets it from his father!)

A few birthday presents. I made this frog for Katie to replace the famous "ribby." Luckily, my mom found a much better replacement. This thing really is an atrocity! Because it was a "Santa" gift I could only work on it when Katie was gone. One day while she was at preschool I pulled it out and Joey went nuts. After that day he tried to remove it from it's hiding place on a regular basis. So, it has become a birthday gift. Joey affectionately refers to it as "dog." Just as he does everything else in his world!

Jammin' in his new swim duds to "car in the bubble wash!"

Birthday Round 2

Poor Joey. He's just getting the hang of this whole present thing and Katie swoops in to save the day!

A Fine evening of Birthday Bowling!

Wishin' and hopin'.........and not so much!

Who cares if I can't bowl at least I look good doing it!!!

And, this is Katie by the end of the night! Slightly possessed!

Sweet Maddy

Sweet little Maddy. Don't you just want to squish those adorable cheeks. She was so expressive. I had so much fun with her!

***Oh, and I have been trying to post BIG pictures. But, the right side of all of them gets cut off. Anyone know how to resize blogger templates????
