Things are looking up!! Joseph was only on nasal CPAP for about 24 hours. I never was able to get a picture of him with it. I have been having terrible headaches and a camera was the last thing on my mind. Currently, he is on nasal cannula with a small amount of oxygen. They have started to feed him and I was able to nurse him today. He has two more days of antibiotics to go. Hopefully, he'll be off oxygen in the next day or so. His breathing is much less labored and his swelling is decreasing. We're keeping our fingers crossed as well as sending many prayers that he'll be home with us this weekend!!!!

Melissa, you guys have been in our thoughts and prayers, and I haven't had a chance to check up on you guys until now. I'm so glad to hear he's doing better, and that you'll be taking him home soon! I bet it's frustrating, with both of you in the medical field, just letting the nurses take away that precious baby. I thought about you being in the NICU for all those years, and watching them take your baby in there would be heart wrenching, it seriously brings me to tears. You look amazing, by the way, after JUST having a baby! Take care, and we're sure thinking about you. Congratulations! Love ya!
I so glad...I've been thinking about you guys all the time! Warm thoughts from NC...
He is so cute! Just perfect. Congratulations on your new little guy and I am excited for you to be able to take him home very soon.
I am so glad he is doing better. I hope he gets to come home on Friday! I hope your headaches get better. Call if you need anything.
So glad to hear he's doing better. That's wonderful that things are looking up, and that you were finally able to nurse him! We'll be praying he gets to come home for the weekend.
Yay! I"m so glad he's doing better! I was so confused about his name, but I see you fixed it. I was trying to tell Ryan that I thought it really was Jospeh (check out the top of your blog too). Oh dear, I KNOW the brain doesn't work the same right after childbirth! Been there! Still there, actually. :)
Hey Melissa, I just saw your email at work! I hope baby Joseph is doing okay. It sounds like he's turned the corner. My little girl Avery also had aspiration pneumonia when she was born and ended up in the nicu for 3 weeks. She was even on a ventilator for a couple of days...the biggest baby in the nicu. I can relate to the emotions you are going through right now. It's not very fun! Hopefully they are being nice to you. He looks adorable. Check us out at chelsaandbeau.blogspot.com. I'll be thinking about you guys!
Congrats! We are so glad that he is doing better. We can't wait to see more pictures.
Love, Brycen & Lori
