Cannon Beach, Oregon

We just got home from the most wonderful vacation to Cannon Beach, Oregon with my family and Todd's parents. It is a place my family has gone almost every year since I was ten. I haven't been for about three years and it was great to be back. It seems as though time stands still when you are near the ocean listening to the rhythmic waves. I loved waking each morning to see its beauty and knowing that there was nothing on the day's agenda other than enjoying this place.

I think Katie was on stimulation overload. She just couldn't wait to go play at the beach and see what she could discover for the day. I showed her my favorite trick, poking anenomes and watching them close, while playing in the tide pools and she absoultely loved it. It was nearly impossible to pull her away from them. The first day we went exploring them it was still quite cold and she ended up soaked to her waist, but she didn't want to leave. Finally, her lips were completely blue and her legs were so cold she could hardly walk that we had to call it a day! Her lips were so blue my sister thought she had gotten into some kind of blue candy!

LET'S GO FLY A KITE!

Katie's first kite flying experience. She was mesmorized by how it could "fly with the birdies." She also thought it was hysterical to let go of the string and watch daddy chase after it! HA HA!

AQUARIUM

I love the picture of Katie laughing. She was getting the biggest kick out of the seals. They kept coming up to the edge of the pool and slapping their fins on their bellies to splash everyone.

Katie loved riding the carousel with Papa. I think Papa enjoyed it quite a bit too!
